Sneak Peek: A Class with Paula Fonseca
/Hi friends and happy Wednesday! I am checking in quickly today to give you a sneak peek into one of Paula's workouts! As you may already know, Paula is leading the strength workout tomorrow at NBGNO (New Balance Girl's Night Out). I had the opportunity to take her "Ropes & Rowers" class last Thursday at Equinox Boston and it was AWESOME!
Side note -- New Balance sent a little (big) surprise over on Thursday so I was pumped to bring this bag to class. As I was sitting in my uber... I could not help but feel inspired by what NBWomen stands for... New Balance has made it VERY CLEAR that these girl's night out events aren't their only contribution back to their customers. They have designed a fall line, incorporating REAL athletes that takes all of our needs and desires into consideration. Performance, fit, and the love of sport. New Balance says they are inspired by us as women, but, I am inspired at their dedication to uniting women all over the world. That is why I love this brand.
Ok, back to Paula! So, I was immediately greeted by this teeny-tiny powerhouse with a big smile and a firm handshake. She introduced me to Colleen who was the best partner in crime during this class. I typically like to try new classes with one of my girlfriends so it was great to have Colleen by my side. By the end of class, Colleen and I were gabbing it up and cheering each other on. Thank you so much, Colleen!!
The workout consisted of 4 circuits:
-Rowing machine, Body Bar, Ropes, and Sandbags. The first circuit was 4 minutes (holy hell), then 3 mins, 2 and 1.
As I've mentioned before, I love a good circuit workout. Paula walked around the gym and motivated each and every person. She drove the competitiveness in all of us by tracking our reps on the rowing machine (Guys v. Gals) and giving a nod to those that were pushing extra hard. I love it when a trainer pushes me to go above and beyond. There's no better feeling than leaving class knowing that I gave 150%.
I'm sure you'll all feel the same way tomorrow as Paula guides us through the the strength workout designed by Holly Perkins. I can't wait!
If you can't make it tomorrow, check out Paula at Equinox in downtown!
Have a great rest of your day! xo
